A letter from JANEEN JOHNSON

My name is Janeen Johnson, I am 51 years old . I am a native of Baton Rouge, but currently live in Prairievile.  My family is the best part of my life. Stephen is my husband of 26 years and I have a daughter Lauren and son Zachary, and a granddaughter Kinleigh.

In September 2022 I went in for a routine yearly mammogram . A couple of days later I was called back for more testing . Then again more testing & eventually a breast biopsy. I then was then diagnosed on 10/3/22 with Triple Negative Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. Began treatment on 10/31/22. I had been working at a Dental Office for four months when diagnosed.  I was only able to work to after 11/30/22.

I was going through two different types of chemo for three months each.  The first was Taxol & Carbo which weekly & mild compared to the next one Adriamycin (red devel) &  Cytoxan treatment which was 3 times every 3 weeks. This made me deathly Ill. Constant Nausea, vomiting, along with two hospital stays, a blood transfusion & tachycardia. I finally completed chemo on 4/28/23 after loosing 30 + pounds.

I did receive really good news from my MRI. The mass was resolved & there was no evidence of a suspicious mass.  So this was refreshing news during my second round of chemo. My next step will be surgery (lumpectomy) and then (20) radiation.

Thank you to Dr. Burke & Dr. Fauveaux, NP’s Phaon & Jessica.  Nurses, Tameka, Ashley, the infusion nurses (especially Kaylee) at Ochsner The Grove. Also, thank you so much Jeremy &  Clash of Cooks for picking me to be a beneficiary 2023.

Here’s to being Cancer Free In 2023!!
